Champagne USA
18th November 2008
Champagne Cattier has finally landed across the pond after being enjoyed by 65 countries around the globe.
As the official Champagne of the Euro 2008 championship and the in-flight bubbly for both British Airways and Air China, the Champagne has enjoyed quite a high profile.
The Champagne's different variants are produced in Montagne in Reims over 31 hectares of vineyards that are mostly classified as Premier Cru.
Commenting on the heritage of the brand, Jean Jacques Cattier, said: "We take pride in the fact that we are one of the last family-owned vineyards in the region. This allows us to ensure that what you taste is what you expect, exquisite and premiere champagnes."
There are five varieties of Cattier's champagne. Red Kiss is 90 per cent Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier and ten per cent Chardonnay.
It is described as a "full- bodied salmon hued Champagne" with "aromas of cherry, strawberry and blackberry".
Another Champagne in the range is the limited edition Clos du Moulin which is 50 per cent Pinot Noir and 50 per cent Chardonnay and is the only one in the range that is produced entirely within Cattier's walled vineyard.
A study by the University of Reading and the University of Cagliari revealed that moderate Champagne consumption may help the brain cope with trauma caused by a stroke, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
