Product reviewed: Camel Valley Cornwall Rose Brut

What with the Jubilee and all, I have already drunk more than my fair share of this gorgeous pink bubbly. Confusingly for novices, apart from its baby pink label, Bob and Sam Lindo do not bother to put rose on the bottle. Made from the free-run juice from crushed pinot noir grapes, this bubbly bursts with glorious spicy, strawberry and raspberry fruit, complete with a tastebud-tingling, zesty finish.

"Very pale peach colour, persitent bubbles and tight cordon. Nose is fragrant, red fruits and toasted baguette. On the palate, very pretty with crisp acidity supporting purity of fresh fruit salad and velvet-textured mousse, long finish. Very well-done. Superb wine."

I tried this wine back in 2014, when it had just won a blind tasting gold award, beating many European sparkling wines to the prize. Lovely toasty aromas, strawberry and raspberry flavours.
