Domaine Ferrand is situated in the village of Solutre-Pouilly in the heart of the Pouilly Fuisse appellation of southern Burgundy. The domaine now comprises of just over 11 hectares of vineyards that have been passed down from father to son over three generations. Today the domaine is run by Madame Nadine Ferrand whose wines have been well reviewed by the Guide Hachette Vinification The grapes are pneumatically pressed and fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tanks. 30% of the wine is aged on its lees in new French oak casks where racking takes place once a week. The wine goes through malolactic fermentation. The wine is blended and filtered. Bottling takes place twice a year in April and September. Tasting Note Ripe fruit blended with oak, a round and creamy flavour with a nutty, toffee finish. One third new oak is used together with traditional vinification to obtain richness and complexity.
