Premier Cru Chablis Wine

Premier Cru Chablis is situated on both sides of the Serein river on slopes of predominantly limestone across 8 communes – Chablis – Fontenay – Mailgny – Chichee – La Chapelle-Vautelpeigne - Courgis – Fleys – and Beines. The most noted climats being La Montee de Tonnerre, Mont de Milieu, Forets and Vaillons. The general Chablis classification represents the rest of the area’s production of around 166,500 hectolitres over 2,782 hectares with Petit Chablis being the first of the 4 to receive the AOC [Appellation d’Origine Controlees] status. This area of classification produces around 29,200 hectolitres covering 535 hectares.
