Vosne-Romanee Wines

The fabled vineyards of Vosne Romanee are found in a small commune of only 27 ha, and are situated high on the hills above Vougeot. The village of Flagey-Echezeaux lies lower down, but is attached to this appellation, and is famous for its prized Grand Cru, Echezaux.

About Vosne-Romanee Wines

Although the entire area is less than half the size of the Clos de Vougeot, it is home to the most sought after, desired, and expensive wines in the world, with prices per bottle rising to stratospheric levels. There are more Grand Crus vineyards here than in any other Cote de Nuits commune, and these are the best known and revered across the universe. They include the magical names of La Tache, La Grand Rue, Richebourg, La Romanee, Romanee Saint Vivant, and the jewel in a very expensive crown, La Romanee-Conti. The opportunity to taste these wines is rare, and is seized upon by wine professionals and wine lovers alike.

At their very best, the wines are intense, almost intoxicating in their complexity, depth and perfume – dense black and red fruit, smoke, heady perfume, and a silky, velvety intensity. Once tasted, never forgotten, and they really do set the bar.
