This is a scrumptious example of the new wave of Aussie Chardonnays, which combine loads of fresh, ripe fruit flavours with just a gentle hint of creamy oak. White wine specialist John Coughian harvested these grapes at night in order to retain maximum freshness in the fruit. With flavours of peach and pineapple, together with a lightly creamy, nutty texture, this is a deliciously easy-drinking white.
This kind of expressive, well balanced Chardonnay works very well either as an aperitif or as a match of fresh flavours like pan-fried king prawns or Caesar salad. Serve at room temperature.
