Purchased in 2012, this is the just second vintage from this Château La Creation, and it displays all the rich voluptuous fruit and almost creamy texture that is the hallmark of Pomerol – the smallest and most sought after appellation in Bordeaux. Yseult Nony de Gaye, whose family also owns Château Grand Corbin Manuel in Saint Emilion, runs this 4.60 hectare estate on the north side of Pomerol. It is made from a blend of 55% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon and has notes of spice and floral notes on the nose. On the palate, it is fleshy and smooth with strong aromatic intensity and a long finish. Pairs perfectly with rich red meats, heady truffle and hard cheeses. 13% ABV
